Diana Birkett
Diana Birkett, MPH, MPA is Director, Federal Relations & Policy for Group Health Cooperative, an integrated healthcare organization serving Washington and northern Idaho.Diana develops and communicates Group Health's federal policy priorities on issues of health care financing, coverage, and delivery, but she loves seeing people stay healthy enough to avoid the health care system in the first place.Programs like Girls on the Run are powerful for their ability to help girls develop a healthy lifestyle and a sense of self that can carry them through adolescence and into adulthood. After growing up and going to college in Boston and Cambridge, MA, Diana has crisscrossed the country several times: from public health advocacy in DC to graduate school in Seattle, health policy advisor for the Democratic staff of the US Senate Finance Committee in DC to Group Health.Diana's passion for GOTR's mission is both professional and personal: If GOTR could work its magic on all kids, we'd begin to solve our country's health care crisis by reversing the trends of obesity and chronic disease. And if Diana had enjoyed GOTR as a girl herself, she might have at held her head a little higher while looking for four-leaf clovers in the Little League outfield.Diana enjoys yoga, painting, music, and getting outside in the beautiful Pacific Northwest - hiking, biking, skiing, and - of course - running.

I work in Marketing at Expedia and have held roles in businesses in a variety of functions, with an MBA from the University of Chicago.I enjoy being active and like running, snowboarding, and hiking.

I'm passionate about GOTR because playing sports were important to me growing up and through running and positive messages, we can increase the confidence of girls at a vulnerable age.

Pamela Krueger
Pamela started running road races when she was 5 years old, being dubbed daddy long legs by all of the neighborhood kids. Her adolescent years were full of constant change, due to moving from location to location, about every two
years, for her single working mother's career advancements. During that time, running and coaches were one constant in her ever changing life. After high school, she attended Colorado College, graduating with a B.A. in World Political Economy in 1989, and then began her professional career at a local investment services company, Kibble & Prentice, Inc. in Seattle. She left KPI after about two years, taking an opportunity to do market research for a Japanese firm in Nagoya, Japan with her fiancee Scott. She sat for the bar in Tokyo and then attended law school at Drake Law School in Des Moines, IA where her husband Scott's parents resided. She returned to Seattle in 1994, starting her law practice with Lane Powell Spears Lubersky LLP, and then was recruited to Perkins Coie LLP. After practicing environmental and land use law at Perkins Coie LLP for 10 years, having been named a partner in the Bellevue office in 2003, Pamela left big firm life to take time to reconnect with her two boys, ages 6 and 10, and commit herself to giving back to the community through service to others. She also started her own business, Collaborative Choice Consulting, LLC, which is dedicated to the collaborative resolution of environmental conflicts throughout the Puget Sound. In addition to being a devoted supporter of Girls on the Run through coaching and serving as a board member, Pamela currently chairs the John Stanford Public Service and Political Science Academy (a program serving high school youth in south Seattle, connecting them to careers in public service) and also chairs the University Child Development School's Community Service Committee (where her children go to school). Pamela is deeply committed to the mission of Girls on the Run of Puget Sound, and says, "If only a program like this had been around when I was a young girl, it would have been of great benefit to me as I yearned for mentors and role models, always being on the "outside" in social circles because I was the "new girl on the block." Being involved in the GOTR program is rewarding and I hope to support our Puget Sound chapter for many years to come."

Dana Viernes
For me, running is a retreat from the stresses of everyday life, a welcome start to my days, and a way to stay healthy mentally, physically and emotionally.I was drawn to GOTR because of its mission and the creative way that GOTR combines physical activity with the development of the whole girl during this critical stage in her life.I had been searching for a way to be more active in the community and the combination of physical activity and the program's focus on pre-adolescent girls resonates deeply with me.
